Our board members consist of professional volunteers focusing on serving the Oakland County area. They are involved extensively in the planning process and implementing GIRDLE's goals and objectives including the acquisition of new resources.

My name is Dorothy Flowers. I have served on GIRDLE's board since 2014. I'm pleased to serve on several different boards, but this one is close to my heart.
My sole desire is to please God. Being counted as one that God Is Raising Devoted Ladies For Excellence is ultimate. PRAISE GOD. I have been married to Mr. James Flowers forty six years. I am stepmother to his daughter Tami ( Dr. Eddie) Peasant.
Academic: I received my B.A. degree from Madonna University, Business Administration. I've studied at Wayne State in Cognitive Impairment. I am a member of the National Association of Negro Business and Professional Women organization. I serve as an Executive Board member of the Northern Oakland County Branch NAACP.
My church is Berea Family Tabernacle of Faith, which I am a charted member.
CATHERINE JOHNSON - President / CEO
Mrs. Johnson has been a leader in her community teaching Sunday school, drug counseling and mentoring young ladies. Her experience includes: Bachelor inHurman Services, Family Life Educator, Teen Parent Case Manager, Children of Promise Mentor Liaison, Newman Court Outreach Worker, Public Relations Agent, Detorit Entrepreneurshi Institute. Mrs. Johnson community volunter experience include: Safe Harbor, Forgotten Harvest, Diva Night Coordinator, Diamonds for Chirst, EBON Temple Drug Awareness. Mrs. Johnson is married with three adult children and twelve grandchildren.
PATRICE SLATER - Board Secretary
I am a proud resident of Pontiac, and I have been a part of GIRDLE since 2003. Now I serve as fundraiser manager on the GIRDLE team. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Human Services from Baker College and currently I am employed at Common Ground in the Health Information Department. I have also worked for HAVEN and Catholic Social Services, where I utilized my skills to help those throughout Oakland County with various resources and services. I am an active member in the community and at Galilean Baptist Church, under the leadership of Pastor Robert L. Burch Sr.
We are a non-profit organization. Our objective is to support women, physically, mentally, and spiritually. The support we offer is free to the women who take advantage of our services. In order to accomplish this goal, we welcome your support either monitarily or volunteer help.
